    Background
The establishment of a cemetery near the mountain (Mount Patricia) at Wild Cove began 60 years ago on April 29th, 1959. What better time for this new expansion than on the 60th year anniversary.
The Mount Patricia Cemetery Association (MPCA) is an incorporated entity under the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Its members are elected or appointed each year at the annual meeting of each of the parishes or church groups within the city of Corner Brook. The MPCA membership meet bi-monthly to make decisions regarding budgets, fee schedules, by-laws and all policies affecting the general operation of Mount Patricia Cemetery (MPC). The Annual General Meeting of the MPCA is held each year in April. The Bay of Islands Ministerial Association (BOIMA) also elects or appoints one of its members as a representative to the board of directors each year.
The MPCA has seen a continual increase in the number of interments of Cremains and a decrease in traditional burials over the past decade. We are projecting interments to continue that trend and continue into the future at a rate of 1% to 3% increase per year in cremation burials and a subsequent decrease in traditional burials by the same rate.
According to trends and current research, by 2025 over 65% of all interments at Mount Patricia will be for cremations and less than 35% will result in traditional burials.
    • The Columbarium is therefore required to meet the evolving burial needs of our community.
The MPCA sincerely appreciates those who have helped in this endeavor and we look forward to your continued support as we work together to make sure that Mount Patricia maintains its reputation as a beautiful and scenic resting place for our loved ones.
